Is the Rates API supported for Newgistics shipments?

Not currently. You cannot use the Rates API to retrieve rates for Newgistics shipments.

Does my shipper rate plan apply to Newgistics shipments?

No. Shipper rate plans apply only to prepaid USPS shipments. They do not apply to Newgistics shipments.

Does my postage account get charged when I print a Newgistics label?

No. Newgistics labels are post-paid labels and do not incur a charges at print time.

What are the CLIENT_FACILITY_ID and CARRIER_FACILITY_ID?

These are IDs the Newgistics representative provides the merchant during onboarding. The merchant passes the IDs when creating a shipment. For more information, see Newgistics IDs.

What is the default value for NON_DELIVERY_OPTION?

With no endorsement specified, the default USPS treatment of packages that are undeliverable is as follows: Parcel Select (PRCLSEL) is treated as “Forwarding Service Requested,” and Parcel Select Lightweight (PSLW) is destroyed by USPS.

Are Newgistics transit triggers supported?

Yes. You can subscribe the shipment to receive provisioned transit triggers by including the NOTIFICATIONS special service in the request. The merchant must be configured for Newgistics transit triggers to use this feature. For more information, see the Newgistics Transit Triggers section on the Create a Newgistics Shipment page.

Can I pass values to Newgistics reference fields?

Yes. Use the references array in the Create Newgistics Shipment request. The array maps client-generated identifiers to the following Newgistics fields:

  • ReferenceNumber
  • AddlRef1
  • AddlRef2
